Bridal Guide’s Got the Scoop on Miss America’s Wedding
Miss America 2009, Katie Stam, Shares Insider Information about Her Big Day
New York, NY, July 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Exclusive to Bridal Guide’s upcoming September/October 2010 issue, Miss America 2009, Katie Stam shares the inside scoop on planning the most important day of her life.
“We’re so excited to have Katie on our cover,” said Diane Forden, Bridal Guide’s Editor in Chief. “It’s such an honor to work with the legendary Miss America Organization, as it celebrates its 90th anniversary.” Added Diane, “At Bridal Guide, we believe that every bride is a queen for a day, so we’re especially proud to feature Katie as she transforms from beauty queen to dazzling bride.”
Katie’s fiancé, Brian Irk, popped the question during a fundraiser for the Miss America Organization. Katie says that his proposal was extra special because she got to share the moment with “700 people, including 25 former Miss Americas and all 53 of the 2010 contestants.”
The night before Katie was to pass on her crown, Brian, a personal trainer and physical therapist, “gave a touching speech, dropped to one knee, and asked [Katie] to be his Miss America forever.” Brian proposed to Katie with a two-carat vintage-inspired engagement ring made of four emerald-cut diamonds. The ring suits Katie’s wedding style perfectly— everything she chose for her big day from her look, to her bridesmaids, to the reception decor, will have a 1930’s feel.
Katie will say “I do” in a custom-made Steven Birnbaum silk ball gown with a cathedral-length train and a veil with ribbon bows by Birnbaum & Bullock. She chose to add a chic satin belt for the perfect finishing touch. And, as for her “something borrowed,” Katie will wear her best friend’s grandmother’s Tiffany & Co. bracelets.
