GigsWiz for Facebook Application Released Following Huge User Demand
Helsinki, Finland, July 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Helsinki-based music start-up GigsWiz has released its much sought after official Facebook Application only three weeks after the free service’s open beta was released. Based on feedback gathered from the eager GigsWiz user bands the Facebook application has been the number one priority development feature.
“Based on the enormous demand we got for the Facebook application we decided to develop it as quickly as possible. This is a great example of how the "Lean Start-Up" methodology works in practice - our product development is steered solely by the feedback received from our users, and especially the bands and artists themselves,” says GigsWiz VP Product Kai Lemmetty.
Through the GigsWiz for Facebook application fans can make concert requests in Facebook for the bands and artists who are registered users of the GigsWiz platform. The application enables social sharing, meaning fans are able to share their requests within their own friend network which helps the bands increase their viral spread in social media.
The newly released Facebook application is extremely easy to use and install, and it’s free for old and new registered GigsWiz users just like the whole existing GigsWiz platform. The Facebook application doesn’t require a registration or a separate installation from the fans because fans use the application through their favorite bands’ Facebook pages similar to how the GigsWiz widgets work in the band’s MySpace Profiles and official homepages.
“We’re extremely happy with the exponential increase in the amount of GigsWiz’s registered users since the release of our beta service. We believe that this much desired feature brings more and more new active users to our service who can in turn give us valuable feedback on how to develop the service further,” says GigsWiz CEO Juuso Vermasheina.
Helsinki‐based music technology start-up GigsWiz launched a beta version of its analytics platform for the live music industry in June 2010. The free service helps bands, their agents and local promoters make better informed decisions on where bands should arrange concerts and tours. The GigsWiz platform enables bands and artists and their management to gather fan requests through the bands’ and artists’ web properties. GigsWiz then visualizes this data in a business-focused and easy-to-use format. GigsWiz is looking to combine this offering with real‐time geolocation specific consumption data from online music services. For the first time bands, agents and promoters have clear statistics on the expected demand for gigs. Bands can serve their fans better and improve their revenue by optimizing gigs and tours to the right cities and venues.
