Rhea Lana's to Hold It's First Sale in New Orleans August 5 - 7
Children’s consignment sale new to New Orleans will offer name brand items, 70 percent of sales to consignors
Metairie, LA, July 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Erica Plaia Harrod, a New Orleans native who graduated from the University of New Orleans, will hold her first Rhea Lana’s sale. Rhea Lana’s Inc. is a seasonal children’s consignment business with sales each spring and either in the fall or just before school begins.
“I am excited about bringing this event to the New Orleans area,” Harrod said. “We really do provide a service to the community. Our sales enable mothers on a budget to purchase name-brand clothes and items they may not normally be able to afford, and every mother wants the best for their children.”
A reputation for high quality items at bargain prices has enabled Rhea Lana’s, which is named for its founder, Rhea Lana Riner, to grow to more than 25 sales in 11 states over the past 13 years, Harrod said. Heather Shelton held the first Rhea Lana’s sale in Louisiana at Baton Rouge in the spring of 2009.
Some of the items offered for sale by Rhea Lana’s consignors include: name-brand clothing for infants through pre-teens; maternity clothes; baby items ranging from bottles and cribs to car seats, strollers and high chairs; furniture and bedding; and toys, books and DVDs.
“I was a consigner at the Rhea Lana’s sale in Baton Rouge in spring 2010,” said Nicole Salassi of Baton Rouge. “With the money I made as a consignor, I was able to purchase my children’s entire spring wardrobe at the sale. I love Rhea Lana’s because I earn 70 percent of the items I sell, and my items are guaranteed if they’re lost or stolen.”
At every location, Rhea Lana’s gives unsold items that consignors wish to donate to local charities. “In the New Orleans area, I’ve chosen to donate unsold items to the Metropolitan Center for Women & Children and the Restoration Pregnancy Resource Center,” Harrod said. “These seemed like logical choices. We are in business to help families, particularly mothers.”
Harrod said volunteers play a critical role in the success of Rhea Lana’s sales. “They work hard, but there are perks. They get to shop early and choose from among the best selection.”
