Strong Competition for the OSKAR Capital Awards - Romania 2006
Almost 100 names of big companies, managers and business people were screened by the Capital magazine, together with a jury composed from celebrities of the local business environment; during the edition number XII of the Oskar Capital Awards.
Laussanne, Switzerland, December 13, 2006 --(PR.com)-- After a comprehensive and difficult analysis, three nominees were chosen for each one of the five categories. Only the nominees are now in the race, which rewards exceptional achievements in the business area. This year's edition has a special flavor, because it emphasizes from a corporate point of view, the integration in the EU. The event wants to prove that the Romanian companies and their leaders have reached performance levels comparable with the European ones.
This kind of examples could be considered in fact, true engines of the integration, before that, this integration was politically decided at the 1st of January 2007. As in every year, Oskar Capital is a barometer of the Romanian economy, which indicate the areas with the biggest growth. The most dynamic sectors are: communications, IT, banking sector and the pharmaceutical market.
Marius Cojanu the owner of the IT company Romsys is one of the three nominees in the “Business Man of the year” category.
Marius Cojanu reinvested most of the profit obtained last year in the development of the business, through the increase of the number and of the skills of the employees and through the acquisition of new technologies and new development tools. In the next period, his efforts will be directed in order to internationalize the business to the European level. The company invested nearly a half million Euro in order to assure modern working conditions, with a technological infrastructure of the last generation, in the new headquarter from Bucharest Business Park. In 2005, the net profit of the company increased by 70%, compared to the last year, and it reached 11,2 millions USD, and the revenues were of 44,8 millions USD.
Founded in 1993 as a 100% private Romanian company, Romsys has quickly established itself as one of the leading providers of advanced information technology solutions in Romania.
