Award Accolade for Local Company
Derbye, United Kingdom, July 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- KP Snacks in Ashby de la Zouch has clinched two major prizes at Derby College’s 7th annual Peak Awards.
KP Snacks were named Employer of the Year in recognition of their commitment to staff training and Warehouse Advanced Team Leader Simon Chamberlain won the Manufacturing Award due to the support he has given to other learners undertaking the Warehouse and Storage NVQ qualifications.
The work-based learning programme has been run at the company by Corporate College, the business skills solutions division at Derby College, who nominated KP Snacks for the awards – held for the first time this year at the College’s 48 pounds Sterling million Roundhouse vocational campus.
KP Snacks General Manager Howard Sander said: “I am delighted that we have been recognised as the top business that Corporate College works with.
“We are as committed as ever to drive forward the investment in our people as we continue our successful journey. This year has been great for this site and the award is a great reward for the work done so far.”
Business Development Director April Hayhurst said: “Businesses across the industrial spectrum continue to recognise that investing in their workforce is vital to retaining experienced and skilled employees.
“Upskilling the workforce also gives businesses a greater competitive advantage to survive the ongoing tough trading climate and take advantage of the inevitable economic upturn.”
