Ruekert/Mielke Announces Sponsorship of Water Star Wisconsin
Wisconsin Civil engineering firm sponsors new state water conservation program.
Waukesha, WI, July 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A popular Wisconsin civil engineering firm has announced sponsorship of Water Star Wisconsin, a new program launched on April 22 of this year that honors communities for their surface water and groundwater protection activities.
“We are excited to participate in an organization that promotes water conservation practices. It really allows us to partner with communities in a positive way, helping them to identify new ways to protect water resources and educate the public,” states Steve Wurster, a water resources engineer with Ruekert/Mielke and a part of the Water Star Working Group. “This is one of the first programs in the country that helps to guide and inspire municipalities to protect, improve and enhance their local water resources.”
The program began with eight leading water conservation communities and after only a few months representatives have already seen communities inspired to share their successes and begin to set even loftier conservation goals. Communities of all sizes are invited and urged to participate. The program is free, funded by grants and sponsorships from local Wisconsin organizations and businesses.
About Water Star Wisconsin
The Water Star Wisconsin program inspires and guides communities to meet recommended standards in the protection and enhancement of water resources, including surface water, groundwater, habitats and health and recreation.
In its first year, the program envisions “Water Star Communities” as places where citizens, elected officials and public staff work together to value, protect, restore and enjoy water resources but doing whatever it takes to keep waters health, safe and viable.
