ArtFire Builds Artisan Recognition Program with the Certified Handmade Artisan Award
ArtFire Organizes New Application/Award System to Showcase Handmade Sellers
Tucson, AZ, July 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In order to help best differentiate handmade artisans in the general market, ArtFire.com has created a certification and review system for handmade Pro sellers. This award and certification will help new shoppers and members of the community better identify sellers that hand craft their products for sale.
To qualify for the award, sellers must have held Pro status on ArtFire for a minimum of 60 days, have all the contact, branding and customization information in their studio completed, be in good standing as a seller on ArtFire, and have only 100% handmade or fine art products in their studio. Those that submit an application will have their studio reviewed by ArtFire staff to determine whether they are 100% handmade. This review process will help to ensure that the handmade certification seal will be displayed by only handmade artisans and fine artists. The award will be displayed on members’ studios and items to help the community identify them as recognized handmade artisans. An off-site blog certification will also be provided to each artisan.

“This certification will better distinguish our handmade artisans and fine artists from craft supply and vintage sellers. In order to fully support the handmade movement and handmade sellers we feel it is critical to make it easy for shoppers to find a certified, trusted handmade artisan or fine artist.“
About ArtFire
ArtFire is the premier artisan marketplace for handmade, fine art, design, media, vintage, and supply sellers. With over 72,000 artisan sellers in just under two years, ArtFire has distinguished itself as the fastest growing artisan marketplace online. Handmade and fine art sellers make up the site’s largest member base, and this award will help those sellers who do put in the time and skill needed to hand make their items the additional attention they deserve.
