Communication Consultant Gets His Running Shoes on to Support Cancer Research Charity

Cardiff, United Kingdom, July 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- South Wales businessman Michael Fogg is limbering up to run the Cardiff Half Marathon later this year.

The 30 year old communication consultant, whose business is based in Cardiff, is running the race in support of Cancer Research UK.

“I’ve done some long distance running in the past, but not for a few years. When I’m away on a contract, I’ll spend an hour or two in a gym or go for a jog to unwind at the end of a day’s work” said Michael.

Over the last month or so, Michael has been pounding laps of Roath Park on his lunch break to build up his stamina for the challenge ahead.

“Whenever the weather is bad for running – by which I mean too sunny – I think about who is going to benefit from the money raised” said Michael.

He agreed to run for Cancer Research UK in support of a former colleague who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and who set up a challenge to raise 1 million pounds Sterling for them. Although Michael’s target is a more modest 1000 pounds Sterling, he thinks that it will still make all the hard work worthwhile.

Michael is a Cardiff City season ticket holder, and Michael Fogg Communication sponsored one of their players last season. He hopes that the local community will get behind him in his half-marathon challenge. “My friends and family have been supportive, and I hope that other people can see their way to donating a bit as well. A few pounds from a lot of people soon adds up, and can help to make a big difference” he said.
