Jane Butel and Jim Hammond Pair Bold Summer Foods with Bold Wines on Blogtalk Radio Tuesdays at 5:30 PM MT

Corrales, NM, July 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- World renowned Queen of Southwestern Cooking Jane Butel and Jim Hammond, the Southwestern Wine Guy, team up each Tuesday to take on the challenges of food and wine pairing - the bold tastes of ethnic cuisines and the wines that can stand up to them. Their entertaining talk show is packed with recipes, wine pairings, and tips and techniques for getting the best from food and wine. The program, called Bold Foods with Bold Wines, is broadcast at www.blogtalkradio.com/janebutel Tuesdays at 4:30 PM PT, 5:30 PM MT, 6:30 PM CT, and 7:30 PM ET.

Themes for the next three weeks are:

- July 20 Tacos for Two or More
Did you know that tacos started as a child’s food to keep the hungry children from getting in a Mexican Mother’s way while preparing a meal? She would merely take a freshly made tortilla (which she made to start every meal.) and place whatever she had on hand into the shell. Today Mexican tacos typically start with soft, freshly made corn tortillas while the popular American taco is fried and crispy. Get taco recipes and ideas for Mexican and other wines that complement them.

- July 27 Beefing It Up
It may be hot outside and turning on the oven may not be a cook’s first choice. But consider doing a roast overnight on Thursday (at low temperature) for a whole weekend’s worth of meals. And, of course, have the red wines available to spice up each menu.

- Aug. 3 Grilling Summer’s Bounty
With all the luscious fruits and veggies available at the Farmer’s Market and in the stores, Jane tells listeners how to enjoy them on the grill while Jim suggests complementary wines – for the chef at the grill and the hungry group at the table.

Listeners to the broadcast are invited to call in with questions and comments, 347-855-8325. Shows are archived on the website for on-demand listening. www.blogtalkradio.com/janebutel.
