Arvel Bird Nominated for Six Indian Summer Music Awards 2010

Nashville, TN, July 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bird Sweeps Awards Categories with more Nominations than any Other Artist.

Celtic violinist/Native American flutist Arvel Bird has been nominated for six 2010 Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA), more nominations than any other artist in the competition this year. The nominations include four singles from the album Ride Indian Ride and two from Red River Jig. Ride Indian Ride, his newest hit album, is an edgier collection of songs, representing a departure from Bird’s more Celtic/Native American sound into the blues/rock genre. Red River Jig is a collection of traditional Metis fiddle tunes and original recordings. The nominated singles in this year’s ISMAs include:

Contemporary Modern Instrumental:

“Roadmaster” (Ride Indian Ride)

Traditional Instrumental:
“Drops of Brandy” (Red River Jig)
“Desert Rose” (Ride Indian Ride)

Central and South American Indigenous Music:

Native American Flute:
“Lighthorse” (Ride Indian Ride)
