Holzman Corkery to Speak at Credit Union Directors Convention

Southfield, MI, July 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Attorneys Chuck Holzman and Patty Corkery have been chosen to speak at the 33rd Annual National Directors’ Convention August 3-6 in Las Vegas Nevada. The event is attended by executive and senior level credit union management from across the nation.

The title of the Holzman Corkery session is Navigating Bond Coverage and Claims: Trends and Tips on Getting Paid.

“Credit unions can spend thousands of dollars and over a year participating in bond carrier investigations with no positive results,” says Ms. Corkery. “Our goal is to share our experience in getting bond claims paid as well as teaching proactive methods to avoid futures denials,” she adds.

Holzman Corkery’s most recent success in this area was as counsel for Michigan First Credit Union in a January 2009 verdict against Cumis Insurance Society. With interest and penalties under Michigan’s Unfair Trade Practices Act, the final judgment was over 7.9 million dollars.
