Pens for Alzheimer's
Sunshine Geriatric Services and Ink Graphics have come together to create a fun way to raise money for the annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk – scheduled for September 25, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Delma Sweazey, owner of Sunshine Geriatric Services, ordered new pens for her company through Patricia Hunter, owner of Ink Graphics. Neither one was happy with the manufacturer’s finished product. Instead of discarding the pens, they came up with a creative way to put these pens to good use.
Sunshine Geriatric Services along with Ink Graphics will participate in the Memory Walk on September 25th, and the team is raising money for this great cause.
Today, there are as many as 5.3 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer's destroys brain cells, causing memory loss and problems with thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time, and it is fatal. Today it is the seventh-leading cause of death in the United States.
Please help them raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk 2010.
Each dollar adds up, and will make a difference.
“Who hasn’t had a bad printing experience in their life? Now let’s get creative and make this the best bad experience we have ever had!” said Patricia Hunter, owner of Ink Graphics.
"I had no idea what to do with all these pens the manufacturer sent me as a consolation to the first set up pens I was unhappy with. These pens are the same as the first batch! So - my creative friend, Patricia Hunter from Ink Graphics had the thought to do something fun with them to put them to good use. And so - the idea of the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk 2010 Pen Drive was born...," said Delma Sweazey, owner of Sunshine Geriatric Services.
