Missouri Botanical Garden Partners with SteadyRain to Cultivate New Digital Landscape

St. Louis, MO, July 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Missouri Botanical Garden, a staple of the international botanical science community and a long-time St. Louis tourist attraction, has contracted with award-winning, St. Louis-based Internet strategy, design, and development firm, SteadyRain.

Founded in 1859, the Garden is a National Historic Landmark and an internationally recognized garden. Located on 79 acres, the Garden is an oasis of master horticulture display in the middle of St. Louis City.

SteadyRain was asked to bring a cohesive approach to content management to the Garden’s digital landscape after being selected as the most qualified candidate in a request for proposals selection process that took place earlier this year.

“Strategically, we know that investing in our websites is an important way to reach our audiences and to share our mission related information. We are contracting with SteadyRain consultants because they can support both the technical and strategic aspects of how we intend to improve our websites. Their capabilities matched-up nicely with our needs,” said Bill Dale, Missouri Botanical Garden’s Director of Planning and Systems.

Currently, SteadyRain is guiding the marketing and technology teams at the Garden through an intensive consulting process to gain a vital 360-degree view of their current organizational structure, market overview, and the changing needs in development and support around the more than 10 actively-supported websites that comprise the Garden’s digital landscape. The goals within the initial phase of the project involve SteadyRain developing an in-depth understanding of the current challenges and opportunities within the existing solution. It is critical for SteadyRain to diagnose a project plan that will make this multi-year project as successful as the Garden has become.

SteadyRain is developing an Internet strategy for the Garden that will not only fulfill their immediate needs, but will also create a strong foundation on which the growing needs of web technologies can expand and develop. The new solution will be centered on the open-source, Windows-based DotNetNuke content management system. As one of only a handful of Gold Partners in the United States, SteadyRain continues to innovate both Web and mobile solutions within this extremely robust content management system and will be leveraging the most advanced version of the software for this solution.

“We are extremely excited to have been selected for this partnership with such an important organization within the St. Louis area,” said Thompson Knox, Vice President of Internet Strategy. “The entire management team and staff at SteadyRain are grateful that the Garden’s team decided to contract SteadyRain. We are thrilled to add the Garden to our growing list of ‘green’ clients.”
