Gorman's Home Furnishings Names Michael S. Otto as CFO

Southfield, MI, August 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gorman’s Home Furnishings And Interior Design has announced the addition of Michael S. Otto as its chief financial officer (CFO).

As CFO, Otto will be instrumental in controlling the company’s financial system, working to further overall organizational productivity. He will also be responsible for accounting, administration, human resources and financial relationships.

Since 1992, Otto served as the CFO at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries. There, his duties included guiding the company throughout its growth to more than $30 million, directed large-scale acquisition financing and holding prominent authority for capital negotiations. Prior to that, he was the controller at Foland’s, Inc. in Livonia, a senior staff auditor at Highland Superstores, Inc. in Plymouth and a staff accountant at Price Waterhouse in Detroit.

A certified public accountant, Otto is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Central Michigan University. He is a resident of Oakland, Michigan.
