Grab a Beverage, Change a Life; The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® Supports HeartGift with Wristband Promotion
In August, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will conduct an in-store promotion to benefit HeartGift Foundation, which brings children from around the world to the United States for surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects.
Austin, TX, July 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Making a positive impact doesn’t always require mountain-moving fetes. Rather, it is often the little things that add up to create greater good. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s locally owned franchisee, Lone Star Bean, is an advocate of this philosophy. That’s why the coffee and tea retailer dedicates its own resources and provides customers with the opportunity to help others in small ways. This month, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will conduct an in-store promotion to benefit HeartGift Foundation, which brings children from around the world to the United States for surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf customers can help create awareness of HeartGift with the purchase of a wristband for a minimum donation of $1 at any of the café’s four Austin locations between July 30 and August 11. In turn, every time a participating customer comes back to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf with the wristband, he or she will receive a ten percent discount on all prepared beverages through August 31. Net proceeds from the bracelet sales will be donated to HeartGift.
“HeartGift was one of the first nonprofits that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf supported in Austin because our team felt so inspired by their work providing life-saving surgeries to children coming to Austin from all over the world. We are honored to create awareness and support for HeartGift,” said Bill Duffy, Chief Operating Officer of Lone Star Bean. “We know that our customers will be very generous in their donations to this worthy cause and will reap the rewards of knowing they’re making a difference. The 10 percent discount on beverage purchases over the next month is our way of thanking our guests.”
For more than a decade, HeartGift has been providing life-saving heart surgery to disadvantaged children from developing countries where specialized medical treatment is either scarce or nonexistent. Each year, the HeartGift Foundation brings children from around the world to Texas for free surgery to correct life threatening heart defects. The all-volunteer team of physicians at HeartGift provides their services at no cost.
“HeartGift has treated more than 100 children from 20 countries in 5 different continents, children who would otherwise die if they did not receive treatment. We enjoy partnering with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and are so appreciative of their innovation in creating fun, engaging promotions that help us create awareness of our organization and the great need we represent,” said Lisa Rodman of HeartGift.
The philanthropic partnership with HeartGift is an ongoing initiative for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which will continue to conduct additional awareness and fundraising activities for the organization throughout the year. It is part of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s local philosophy of serving the community in and around each of its locations.
