RE/MAX Holds Leading Share of Home Sales in DeKalb County Real Estate Market
Elgin, IL, July 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network held the largest share of the DeKalb County residential home sales market during the first half of 2010. RE/MAX agents were instrumental in closing 17.2 percent of the 392 home sales reported in the county by Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED) for the January-June period.
Home sales in the county increased by 50 percent during the six-month period when compared to the first half of 2009. The homes that were sold spent an average of 171 days on the market this year, compared to 191 days a year earlier.
RE/MAX agents listed 20.2 percent of all homes sold, more than any of their competitors, and assisted buyers in the purchase of 14.3 percent of those homes.
The top five real estate organizations in DeKalb County during the first half of 2010, in terms of listings sold, were RE/MAX with 79 (20.2 percent), ERA with 46 (11.7 percent), Coldwell Banker with 42 (10.7 percent), Century 21 with 39 (9.9 percent) and Elm Street Realtors with 21 (5.4 percent). Data maintained by MRED may not reflect all real estate activity in a specific market area.
RE/MAX remains the overall leader in the seven-county metropolitan Chicago real estate market immediately to the east of DeKalb County by listing 18.3 percent of all homes sold and representing either the buyer or seller in 17.1 percent of all sales.
