Volunteer Broward Names Suddath Relocation Systems 2010 Corporate Partner of the Year
Fort Lauderdale, FL, July 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Suddath Relocation Systems of Fort Lauderdale, a leader in corporate relocation, household moving, warehousing and logistics management, was honored as 2010 Corporate Partner of the Year at Volunteer Broward’s recent Heart of the Community recognition event in Fort Lauderdale.
“We’re delighted to recognize Suddath’s longtime role in helping Broward’s families in need,” said Dale Hirsch, Volunteer Broward’s executive director. “The Suddath Relocation Systems of Fort Lauderdale team, led by President Julie Cobb, has found so many ways to use the company’s vast warehousing, manpower and trucking resources to make a meaningful difference.”
Volunteer Broward hosts the annual awards ceremony to showcase the spirit of volunteerism throughout Broward County and to give the area’s not-for-profit organizations an opportunity to spotlight outstanding community volunteers. In addition to Suddath, several dozen individuals received awards recognizing the time, talent and commitment they have given to community groups. Honorees were nominated by the area’s not-for-profit organizations.
As an active community steward for many years, Suddath Relocation Systems of Fort Lauderdale has donated warehouse space, labor and trucks to assist Habitat for Humanity of Broward and the Habitat Restore in Fort Lauderdale. This year, Suddath partnered with Habitat to collect donated food and materials for Haiti, and Suddath stored tons of donated items at its massive warehouse in Deerfield Beach prior to shipment to the earthquake-ravaged island.
Suddath’s Julie Cobb serves on the Volunteer Broward board of directors, and her team supports and volunteers with organizations including the United Way of Broward County, Hispanic Unity of Florida, the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center, The Children’s Opportunity Group and the Junior League of Fort Lauderdale.
