Nonprofit to Conduct Interactive “Bookshop” Promoting Singles Abstinence

Washington, DC, July 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Come learn and share at a unique, interactive “bookshop” conducted by Andrea Hughes, author of the new book Investing Wisely in Your Most Intimate Relationship: A Spiritual Life Growth Notebook for Singles,

Ms. Hughes or “Andrea” will encourage attendees to participate in discussions and to share their stories as she provides singles with solid practices she employed in her personal life as a teenager, young adult, and wife to stay steadfast in her faith and in her most intimate relationships.

Hughes is the director of the nonprofit Embrace—Singles Wholeness & Marriage Strengthening (SW&MS), Inc. Associated with the national Marriage Savers Inc. for over 10 years as well as area teen and adult abstinence promotion groups, Embrace SW&MS, Inc. is one of the few service providers in DC that focuses on strong, healthy, spiritually based relationships for both singles and married couples.

The nonprofit provides a variety of services to singles, with a focus on those of color, to support them in their faith and in their choice to remain abstinent and pure in their intimate relationships. Services include relationship training, educational courses and resources, days of reflection and mini-retreats, healthy relationship coaching, and spiritual development. But, Embrace proves abstinence can also be fun. The nonprofit sponsors recreational activities and events throughout the year where singles can make friends with others who share their ideals.

Director and author Andrea Hughes is a licensed professional counselor with an emphasis on singles and couples counseling and with a focus on people of color. She is a graduate of Shalem Institute of Spiritual Formation Spiritual Guidance program and has been offering Mornings and Days of Reflection in her more than 20 years of young adult/singles ministry.
