Darren Farris Releases a New Single After a Three Year Break

GRM Records/Gypsy Rock Media is set to release Darren Farris' new studio single "Thief of Hearts" August 8th, 2010.

Los Angeles, CA, July 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It has been over 2 years since Darren Farris released a freshly recorded song. Farris' new single "Thief of Hearts" is part of 13 new pop/rock tracks from the upcoming album 'Depth Perception Zero.' Farris showcases his pop rocking voice, prolific songwriting ability and incredible versatility on this new guitar laced track.

The track features Farris co-producing with Billboard hit producer Jimmy Deere. Deere's long resume includes numerous Billboard artists, including Grammy Award winners India Arie and Seal.

"I really enjoyed working with Jimmy D on these tracks," says Farris. "We had such a great time and became good friends in the process. He enjoyed my music too. He was just as excited as I was when I would unveil a new track to work on."

The track was mastered by renowned Los Angeles based music producer Eric Peterson. Peterson engineered sessions for Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Brandy, NeYo, Macy Gray and countless others.

Darren Farris, gained much industry notoriety in 2008 for his melodramatic hit single "Jenna'' from the album 'Psychopathic Issues.' In 2009 Farris' second hit single from the album "Save Me" was transmitted into deep space. Farris' deep space transmission was second only to The Beatles. Worldwide, the broadcast broke records by making Darren the first American and solo artist to have a song transmitted into deep space.

Farris spent 3 years writing and putting together 'Depth Perception Zero.' After over a 2 year layover that was dedicated to life assessment and enjoying the birth of his third daughter, Farris hopes to reignite his fans and supporters and keep them wondering "Who was the Thief of Hearts?'

Details are forthcoming on the release of the 'Depth Perception Zero' album.
