Entrepreneurial Denver Teen Sets Out to Save the Rain Forests

Local teen takes class project and turns it into a business to help save the rain forests.

Denver, CO, July 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- When 17 year old Halley Cook was given an assignment during her sophomore year at Littleton High School, she had no idea the task would awaken a passion. She was asked to create a product that would contribute to the world so she began learning about rain forests. As her research continued, she was shocked to learn that every second, one acre of rain forest is destroyed and at least one species of animal or plant becomes extinct every day as a result. The information lit a fire in Halley and she knew she had to find a way to help. Determined to make a real difference, Halley decided to turn her class assignment into a legitimate business, Love Your Mother LLC.

To help save the rain forests, Halley donates 20% of all proceeds to the Tropical Sierra Foundation to promote reforestation efforts.

Love Your Mother LLC is a new company created by Halley that specializes in retail clothing, jewelry, bags (& more) made exclusively from recycled and organic materials by the indigenous peoples of South America. Halley has already received a number of orders.
