Humor from Around the World Collected in Jokes Aside, Published by Outskirts Press

Sarasota, FL, August 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Vic Levy announced today the release of his new collection of humor, Jokes Aside, Laughter is the Best Medicine, published by Outskirts Press. Encouraged by the friends he has always kept laughing to share his extensive mental library of jokes, Levy has compiled and edited two hundred pages of the best of the best of the jokes he has collected from around the world.

Many of us hear a good joke, laugh a good laugh, and then go to pass it on the next day and realize we’ve forgotten it. Not Vic Levy. He seems to have remembered every joke he’s ever heard and his readers are lucky enough to have him pass them along in this extensive new collection.

There are ethnic jokes. There are blonde jokes. There are mildly risque jokes. There are even jokes translated from foreign languages.

There are puns: the barefoot Mahatma Ghandi described as a “super calloused fragile mystic hexed with halitosis.” There are anagram jokes: “eleven plus two” rearranged is “twelve plus one.” There are jokes about children, wives, rabbis, priests, God, heaven, hell, and anything else anyone has ever joked about.

Jokes Aside, Laughter is the Best Medicine is one read that will keep on giving. Taken in snippets or in large chunks, Levy’s collection provides entertainment and -- most importantly for those of us who forget a good joke almost immediately -- a handy reference.

Jokes Aside, Laughter is the Best Medicine is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.

About the author:

Vic Levy was born and spent his formative years in the Belgian Congo. He migrated to Cape Town, South Africa, in the 1960’s and married there. His three children are now scattered throughout Canada, England and America, and Vic moved to the U.S. himself in 1997. His darling wife and best friend, Gill, helped him translate many of these jokes.

Vic dedicates Jokes Aside, Laughter is the Best Medicine to his cousin, Nisso Alhadeff, who together with his friends nagged him into adding a laugh to their stressful lives with this book. If Vic has done so, he’s accomplished what he intended.
