Smith & Schaefer Showcases Design for Top Notch Education and Treatment Facility
St. Elizabeth Healthcare Regional Diabetes Center Opens Doors in Covington
Cincinnati, OH, August 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Smith & Schaefer, a regional dealer of healthcare and scientific furnishings and equipment, announces the completion of its most recent project in Covington, Kentucky. St. Elizabeth Healthcare opened the Regional Diabetes Center earlier this month. Smith & Schaefer worked in conjunction with Array Healthcare Facilities Solutions, to design, plan and install the furniture throughout the space.
Smith & Schaefer has a 60 year history in the healthcare furnishings and equipment field with projects including complete remodels, new construction and medical facility offices. Smith & Schaefer’s project head for the Diabetes Center, Leslie Gray, along with Array designer Jolene Worobetz, worked hand in hand on space planning, specifications, finishes and design elements.
“For this facility Smith & Schaefer and Array focused on a modern look with tones that will age well with the facility,” said Smith & Schaefer account manager Leslie Gray. “We chose a color palette that catered well to the end user groups and furniture that functions well within the space and patient use. Since the space is unique in its size and offerings, we wanted to offer a cohesive design with a separation between the educational and treatment spaces.”
The Diabetes Center contains 24 exam rooms, nine offices, a reception center, several patient waiting areas and an educational center for group classes and conferences.
“There are many things that make this center unique in this region,” said noted Northern Kentucky endocrinologist and medical director of the new center, Dr. Linda Hermiller, in an earlier press release. “It’s not only the largest such practice here in Greater Cincinnati, but it’s one of the largest east of the Mississippi. This allows our patients to receive appointments quickly and then to get comprehensive and complete care from their very first visit on through all their follow-ups.”
