Rod Carew Baseball Sponsors National Youth Baseball Championships
Chicago, IL, August 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Rod Carew Baseball, a company dedicated to the art & science of hitting, today announced that it will be an official sponsor of the 2010 National Youth Baseball Championships (NYBC). The championships will be held August 26-29 at Gameday Baseball’s First Tennessee Fields in Memphis, TN.
The four-day tournament is the effort of the Major Youth Baseball Alliance, LLC. The MYBA is a company comprised of eight major youth organizations, including AABC (American Amateur Baseball Congress), AAU (Amateur Athletic Union of the United States), Babe Ruth Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, NABF (National Amateur Baseball Federation), Pony Baseball, Super Series Baseball of America, and USSA (United States Specialty Sports Association.
Baseball legend Rod Carew, Chairman of Rod Carew Baseball (RCB) commented, “We’re very pleased to be working with the Major Youth Baseball Alliance and sponsoring the Championships. MYBA’s commitment to America’s youth and the game of baseball is a credit to each organization. Our team looks forward to working with the MYBA and developing a long term partnership, which I, personally, will be very active.”
The tournament crowns national champions in the 10-under and 12-under divisions of the eight participating organizations. Future plans call for the tournament to include as many as eight different age groups.
"It's all about the kids," added Eddie Einhorn, Interim Executive Director of the MYBA. "We are about inclusion, participation, and competition. Organizations with different philosophies have agreed to participate because it's about kids playing baseball. This tournament gives each organization's champion a chance to compete and test its team's skills at the very highest level."
“The efforts of MYBA fit perfectly with the mission of RCB, as we strive to be the premier company teaching the art and science of hitting and working closely with youth baseball,” said Gil Vieira, president of Rod Carew Baseball. “Our partnership with all eight organizations in the Alliance will enable us to introduce the GAPHitter to millions of young players and multiple age groups.”
In addition to the company’s sponsorship, Rod Carew Baseball will be a visible presence at the 2010 National Youth Baseball Championships with several GAPHitters showcased and available for demonstration. The GAPHitter has gained rave reviews from high school and college coaches using the unique hitting aid at summer baseball camps. It has been used at hitting stations to practice situation hitting and has replaced soft-toss drills normally used by coaches.
