International Bullying Conference Announces Keynote Speakers
The International Bullying Prevention Association has announced a stellar international lineup of keynote speakers for its 7th Annual Conference in Seattle this November 15-17. The conference will also include the most prestigious panel of cyberbullying experts ever convened.
Seattle, WA, August 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA) has announced its lineup of keynote speakers for its 7th Annual Conference in Seattle this November. The speakers are:
Jacqueline F. Beauchere, J.D.: Director, Communications & Marketing – Trustworthy Computing for Microsoft Corp., which is responsible for strategic communications to worldwide consumer and government audiences on Microsoft’s work in computer security, privacy, and online safety. Jacqueline previously was Director, Trustworthy Computing Strategy, where she managed communications pertaining to the Trustworthy Computing (TwC) effort.
Dr. David Osher: Vice President in Education, Human Development and the Workforce at the American Institutes for Research. His work focuses on collaboration, children’s services, prevention, social emotional learning, youth development, the social and emotional conditions for learning, teaching, and healthy development, and culturally competent interventions for children and youth with mental health problems and disorders and their families.
Dr. Christina Salmivalli: Professor of Applied Psychology at the University of Turku, Finland. Her research interests include: peer relations in childhood; bullying and victimization; social cognition and social adjustment. Most recently she is the program director for the Kiva project in Finland. This Finnish anti-bullying program received first prize in the European Crime Prevention Award (ECPA) in December 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden.
All three keynote addresses will reflect the theme of this year’s conference, "The Challenge and Promise of the Cyberworld: Bullying Prevention in the Age of the Internet."
In addition to the keynote speakers, the conference will feature a cyberbullying panel discussion by twenty well-known and respected experts and researchers, including Nancy Willard, Sameer Hinduja, Justin Patchin, Stan Davis, Anne Collier, Lisa Jones, Robin Sax, Warren J. Blumenfeld, Patricia Agatston, Mike Donlin, Elizabeth Englander, Rebekah Sills Lamm, Dennis Harper, Donnel Nunes, Mark Trachtenbroit, Det. Frank Dannahey,
Andrew Agatston, Linda Burch, Kim P. Sanchez, and Larry Magid.
The conference will also feature 40 breakout sessions, many of which will be conducted by members of the cyberbullying panel. Breakout session speakers include Dr. Dan Olweus, a well-known and respected researcher considered by many to be the pioneer of modern bullying research. The Cartoon Network, an affiliate of Turner Broadcasting Company, will also participate in the conference.
