Karen Wishart, the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for TV One, one of the nation's major African American cable/satellite television networks, will be a featured keynote speaker at the National Black Pre-Law Conference at the University of Houston on Friday, November 12, 2010.
Houston, TX, August 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The National Black Pre-Law Admissions & Preparation Conference and Law School Recruitment Fair, the nation's premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event for aspiring Black lawyers, is proud to host its sixth annual event this year with the ongoing theme of "Encouraging excellence, strategic thinking, and a competitive mindset among African American law school aspirants." The purpose of this comprehensive educational conference is not only to provide critical information about what it takes to achieve the goal of becoming a lawyer, but also to present positive role models of outstanding lawyers of African descent who have achieved success and are making a difference in the community and beyond.
In keeping with this goal, the conference is excited to welcome TV One's Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Karen Wishart, as one of this year's featured keynote speakers. TV One is a cable/satellite television network, available in over 50 million homes nationwide, that offers a broad range of real life and entertainment programming geared primarily to African American adults.
Ms. Wishart oversees the business and legal affairs department, as well as the human resources department for TV One. Her responsibilities include the negotiation of agreements for all of the company's business units, as well as corporate governance, risk assessment, and strategic planning. In addition, she is the Secretary to the Board of Managers.
