NAFA's Canadian Fleet Management Seminar to be Offered in Both French and English if Demand Warrants It
NAFA presents a Canadian Fleet Management Seminar (CFMS) in Calagary this September 14-15, marking the first time the CFMS has been presented this far into Western Canada. The seminar is scheduled to be presented in English, but NAFA will make a French version available if there is enough demand.
Calgary, Canada, August 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two years ago in Montreal, NAFA made history by presenting the Canadian Fleet Management Seminar (CFMS) in both English and French. NAFA's seminar, which features Canadian-specific content, returns September 14-15, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel Calgary Airport in Calgary, Alberta. While originally scheduled for presentation in English, many Canadian fleet managers have expressed an interest in a French version as well and NAFA has agreed to provide bilingual instructors and offer a French seminar based on demand.
"NAFA's FMS is a great program for two key reasons - the opportunity to refresh, enhance, or learn fleet management skills, and for the networking forum it provides," explained NAFA's Vice President for Canada, Lt. Col. Katherine Vigneau, CAFM. "It is therefore important to have a Canadian-specific version in order to allow Canadian Fleet Managers and others who do business in Canada to benefit from Canadian legislative and regulatory content as well as to network within their immediate circle."
The CFMS was designed to provide new fleet professionals (those with less than 5 years of experience) with the nuts and bolts of what it takes to run a fleet management department. Taught by experts in the fleet management sector, the FMS is a great stepping stone towards learning the fundamental principles and practices of successful fleet management. Program topics include Business Management, Professional Development, Asset Management, Financial Management, Fleet Information Management, Risk Management, Vehicle Fuel Management, and Maintenance Management.
The seminar offers fleet managers the ability to ask questions directly to experts in the field, including questions that address their own specific needs. In addition to interactive and informative discussions, attendees can network with fleet professionals from all sectors and regions as they develop a basic understanding of fleet management.
"Until now, the CFMS has been based in central Canada with Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal all hosting Seminars," added Vigneau. "Canadian NAFA leaders made the decision to offer the 2010 Seminar in Calgary in order to add value to our Western Chapter members, and, well, also because Calgary is such a great City with so much to offer!"
The previous CFMS held in Montreal in 2006 completely sold out. Fleet managers are encouraged to register early to ensure space is available. Registration may be done online at http://www.nafa.org/fms
The cost of the seminar is $625 for NAFA Members and $675 for non-Members. After August 16, the price becomes $700 for NAFA Members and $750 for non-Members. Attendees who are currently enrolled in the Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Automotive Fleet Specialist (CAFS) programs will be able to test on Thursday, September 16. A separate registration for the exams is required to gain access to the testing area.
