VectorLearning Celebrates 10 Years of Online Education
Tampa, FL, August 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- RedVector, the leader in online continuing education for the design and construction fields, and its subsidiary Care2Learn, the top provider of online CE for the post-acute healthcare sector, have more than just a parent company in common. Just over ten years ago, one engineer in the design and construction field and three women educators in long-term healthcare had separate companies with a common need: Quality, convenient continuing education (CE).
Traditional classroom sessions were expensive to present and difficult to schedule without impacting production, and grades and attendance were hard to track. Content and delivery were wildly inconsistent, and sometimes courses didn’t meet the requirements of state boards. Separately, the founders of RedVector and Care2Learn came up with similar solutions: Why not make continuing education easy, affordable, accredited and accessible to the professionals who needed it by putting it online? And so, with just two courses on the engineering side and 200 course hours in long-term care, the seeds of online CE for two industries were planted.
Now, RedVector and Care2Learn (which RedVector acquired in 2007) have delivered more than 1.6 million course hours to hundreds of thousands of professionals across more than 20 disciplines in the design and construction and long-term healthcare markets. Courses have evolved from simple copies of offline documents into rich multimedia productions that feature sound, animation, video, and interactivities that demand active student participation.
“I’m amazed by the speed at which the industry has evolved,” said Victoria Zambito, who has been onboard since 1999 and is now VectorLearning’s Vice President of Marketing. “When I think about how quickly the products we thought were whiz-bang just a few years ago were outpaced by technologies that raised the bar even higher, I can’t help but be optimistic about the future. It’s exciting to see what we thought was a little niche market expanding to become the new standard.”
In addition to the design and construction and long-term healthcare professions, VectorLearning is looking forward to becoming the online education and training leader in numerous other markets.
“The first 10 years saw us accomplish something we’re committed to doing for our customers: It exceeded our expectations,” said Tom Wallace, CEO of VectorLearning. “We employ and partner with dedicated professionals who simply aren’t satisfied with mediocrity and the status quo – and that’s always been our greatest differentiator.”
