D. Jones Tailored Collection Unveils New Site and Affordable Luxury Lines
Custom Menswear Designer Leads the Market by Reintroducing Affordable Floating Canvas Suits.
Dallas, TX, August 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Custom menswear tailor and designer Drew Jones has come a long way from doing manual labor. After graduating from Texas A&M with a finance degree and no clue what he was going to do next, the recent grad took a trip overseas to help construct the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. While there, he had his first custom suit made for him, and it changed his life.
“My first custom tailored suit was incredible” said Jones. “I absolutely loved the fit. I always liked to dress sharp, but like most guys I never thought about fit. So when I had my first custom suit made specifically for me, I realized it would be great to bring that concept back home—but make it affordable.”
Affordable custom tailored suits have been Jones’s business ever since. After finishing work with the embassy, Jones spent several months abroad learning about tailoring and building the foundations of D. Jones Tailored Collection.
“The starting price for most custom suits is $1,500,” said Jones. “We make wonderful clothing that fits every man and every wardrobe need, but for much less.”
For an entrepreneur who never thought about being involved in the fashion industry, Jones has had a lot of success. He recently finished 2nd in a nationwide New Entrepreneur of the Year contest sponsored by Inc. magazine and Alibaba.com, an organization that connects businesses like his with suppliers across the globe.
D. Jones’s new Web site shows his newest product lines which include his new tie line featuring 12 different styles. “These 12 ties are designed to be versatile and can be worn for business attire as well as any other occasion.”
The designer has also released several new suit lines. The first is 100% wool in standard pinstripes or solids made in a comfortable, business professional fabric. It’s designed for younger business professionals who want to be comfortable and subtle. The second is an upgraded Super 130s Italian wool with more creative and unique patterns. Additionally, D. Jones is now offering suits made with some of the finest fabrics in the world including designer fabrics from Holland and Sherry.
The biggest change to come from D. Jones this summer is the introduction of floating canvas suits, which many department stores and even custom tailors do not offer any longer. Most suits are fused, which means a reinforced fabric is glued to the inside of the suit fabric.
Floating canvas suits, on the other hand, have a wool canvas that is hand stitched to the inside of the suit fabric. “This gives the suit a much nicer, more natural shape,” says Jones. “It more naturally forms to a person’s body and feels much more elegant. Floating canvas suits also last much longer; and withstand dry cleaning much more so than fused suits.”
Not only does D. Jones take 22 measurements for every customer, they cut a custom pattern for each customer according to their specific measurements and style preferences.
According to Jones, “A bespoke floating canvas suit is the best make of a suit that custom tailoring has to offer, and this is what we’re moving towards.”
About D. Jones Tailored Collection
When Drew Jones went to Beijing to help construct the U.S. Embassy in 2006, he had no idea what he was going to do with his finance degree from Texas A&M. But when he had a custom suit made, his uncertainty disappeared—the magic of the make and fit inspired him to create his own business which features the return of the floating canvas suit. He decided to bring fine tailoring and custom made suits back home to Texas, but to make them affordable for recent graduates and young professionals just like himself.
Anyone can contact D. Jones Tailored Collection for a free consultation or fitting, or to view the hundreds of fabric options available. D. Jones Tailored Collection is now designing and creating custom tailor-made suits and menswear for Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston.
