A New Fundraising Campaign: Work It Memphis!
Memphis, TN, August 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The creative minds at Valeo Design & Marketing, Inc. have partnered with Advance Memphis to help change lives by way of a contemporary fundraising campaign called “Work It Memphis!”
The campaign is built around exercise and utilizes modern social media tools like Facebook and an iPhone application. Participants are able to choose their preferred sport, whether it be running, swimming, biking, walking, or various others, and then invite their friends to sponsor them using Facebook or their E-mail list. They can then keep track of how much they exercise using the Advance Memphis website, Facebook, or the iPhone app.
Proceeds go to Memphians enrolled at Advance Memphis, a non-profit organization that has been serving adults in the Cleaborn/Foote community of inner city Memphis since 1999. The successful, Biblically-based program provides the tools residents need to become economically self-sufficient.
Through job skills training, mentoring relationships, job placement, work experience, and a number of other programs, Advance Memphis empowers and brings hope, knowledge, resources and skills to the adults of the Cleaborn and Foote neighborhood.
Program leaders hope that this creative campaign will raise not only money, but also awareness of the positive impact Advance Memphis is having on the city.
