Louisiana's Cypress Bend Resort to Host First Annual "Battle at the Bend" Mountain Bike Challenge in November
A USA Cycling-sanctioned event, the “Battle at the Bend” includes an 18.3-mile race for Pro and Category 1 riders competing for a $5,000 prize purse.
Many, LA, August 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cypress Bend Resort, set on 600 acres along the shores of Toledo Bend Lake just south of Shreveport, Louisiana, is set to host the first annual “Battle at the Bend” cross-country mountain bike challenge on Sunday, November 21, 2010.
A USA Cycling-sanctioned event, the “Battle at the Bend” includes an 18.3-mile race for Pro and Category 1 riders competing for a $5,000 prize purse. Other participant groups include Category 2, Category 3 and Juniors who will compete for awards and merchandise.
Gaining reputation among serious bikers as the most challenging mountain trail in the region, the 6.1-mile loop features almost 1,000 feet of grueling climb and wicked downhill elevation changes. The trail winds through tight and open-forest sections with natural challenges which are sure to test both body and bike.
Family, friends, and supporters will enjoy this spectator-friendly event with plenty of outdoor activities for the kids, live music, food and refreshments, vendor booths and more.
The night before the big race, riders and guests are invited to a Battle Ready Dinner. $10 advanced purchase tickets are available at www.BikeReg.com.
