EV-Charge America Unveils Southeast America’s First Level II – J1772 Enabled EV Charging Station System with an Integrated 20kW Solar Carport Array
The first globally networked, solar powered, electric vehicle charging station equipped with both Level II – 240 volt and Level I – 120 volt charging capacity to accommodate Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, and other new electric vehicles using the universal SAE J1772 connectors began full operation today under a 20kW solar carport in Pulaski, Tennessee.
Las Vegas, NV, August 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- This fully integrated combination of EV charging station, smart grid connectivity software and solar, renewable energy generation array represents the next, logical evolutionary step in the developing movement to transition a portion of the transportation sector away from traditional fossil fuels and toward cleaner and renewable domestic energy sources, including solar, wind, and geothermal.
A large turnout of local, state and national stake-holders endured one of the hottest days of the year to participate in the commissioning of this exciting new technology. The ceremony featured presentations from Congressman Lincoln Davis, Pulaski Mayor Dan Spear and hands-on demonstrations of an all-electric-vehicle provided by the local EV-Charge America distributor, Anitech Motors, coupled to their most technologically advanced vehicle charging system to date.
EV-Charge America CEO Bob Rosinski said that “Utilizing the smart grid software embedded in the EVCA Charge Net Stations means that utility companies and municipalities can immediately have a feature-packed, globally networked software solution today, that monitors and adjusts to real-time grid loads thus allowing them to adapt, modulate and optimize the supply and demand of electricity, both on-grid and off-grid when it is used as a transportation fuel.”
About EV-Charge America: EVCA is a global leader and innovator in networked electric vehicle charging station infrastructure technology. The Charge Net™ product family provides a vehicle-charging infrastructure to residential, public and business customers. The easy-to-use Networked Charging Stations are available in Level I (120 Volt) or Level II (240 Volt) versions to support any vehicle platform or requirement. The EVCA multiple vehicle format allows one charging station to charge up to 4 cars simultaneously. This capability provides the lowest-cost and highest value infrastructure solution in the industry.
