Saint Avarice Raise Awareness for Cancer Through the Life Giving Project
Hoboken, NJ, August 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Saint Avarice are on a life altering assignment to change the face of heavy metal music with their "Life Giving Project." The project will raise awareness and money to help the families of children suffering with cancer.
Armed with their debut single, "Malice to Alice," the band is leveraging 3 searing and blistering tracks as a prequel to their full length release, "The Disease You Breed," due to hit stores All Saints Day 2010. With a 35 date Northeastern tour kicking off in this month, Saint Avarice are very optimistic about reaching their fundraising goal of $10,000 to benefit families of children with cancer. Each person who donates to the mission will receive a reward for their contribution which is tiered at various levels of afford-ability.
Many conservative types blame heavy metal music for its negative influence on young adults and teenagers. Suicide, violence, and social withdrawal are some of the proclaimed symptoms of exposure to heavy metal music. Long withstanding the stereotype of Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll; this music style for Saint Avarice is a passion for the New Jersey based quintet.
When asked why their "Life Giving Project" is so important to the band, guitar player, Elviz Christ stated, "Giving is an essential part of receiving. There are too many people out there wandering through their existence without a sense of purpose just getting blown around by the winds of life." Elviz also declared, "Saint Avarice is a vehicle to help give someone in need the opportunity to live a healthy, productive, and purposeful life."
The band shares the likes of thrash and speed metal giants, Slayer, power groove specialists, Lamb of God, the melodic metal institution of Killswitch Engage, and the brutality of death metal legends, Cannibal Corpse. The impact and impression of the aforementioned can be felt all throughout Saint Avarice's musical style.
The project would have not been complete without help from Christian Machado and Laz Pina of the Latin Metal band, Ill Nino, who engineered "The Disease You Breed". God Forbid guitarist, Doc Coyle, is also praised by Elviz Christ and Johnny Death for his influence on the record. The guitar duo of Saint Avarice took lessons from the fret master before and during the writing process of their debut album.
Helping those in need by means of live performances and album sales is nothing new in the music world. However, for these head-banging metal makers it seems that enriching peoples lives will fulfill this bands destiny.
