Death Bed Confession About JFK, RFK and MLK Murders: The Mission, Published by Outskirts Press
Bloomingdale, IL, August 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Author Larry Hunter today announced the release of his new novel, The Mission, A Redemption of the Past, published by Outskirts Press. The fast paced thriller takes readers through the turbulent panorama of social upheaval in the sixties while Father O’Malley fights for his life today trying to bring justice to the assassins of JFK, RFK and MLK.
Summoned to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago, Father O’Malley hears the confession of a dying man which includes the secret behind these three nineteen-sixties assassinations. The good priest believes he has somehow been chosen to bring justice to those responsible for the deaths -- but how is he going to be able to act on this new knowledge without breaking his vows for the sanctity of the confession?
There’s another problem, too. The dying man has added, in his last breath, the warning, “I’m sorry, Father, but your life is now in danger.”
No sooner than Father O’Malley leaves St. Joseph’s hospital, the brakes on his car fail and he narrowly escapes death. Soon he himself is dodging another assassin’s bullet, and only by enlisting the help of an FBI agent and two intrepid Viet Nam vets is the resolute priest able to continue on his mission of exposing the riddle of the Kennedy and King deaths.
The Mission explores the violence and assassinations of the sixties as a backdrop to the dangerous world Father O’Malley has suddenly entered with seamy characters like Vicenzo Gato, Chicago mob boss, and Lawrence Cain, CIA operative with a history that runs back through the Shadow Wars and the Bay of Pigs invasion.
Readers will love the intrigue and gain a new perspective on the American sixties with Larry Hunter’s deft fictional interplay of that decade with the dangerous circumstances in which Father O’Malley now finds himself embedded.
