Digital Signage and Reforestation – An Unlikely Partnership Plays Key Role in the Reforestation of Florida State Forest
The 2009 Florida wildfires left their mark on forests, but Noventri played a key role in assisting in the reforestation of the land through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and purchases of the SF-100e digital signage player from Noventri.
Smithsburg, MD, August 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- As part of the release of the Eco-Series SF-100e digital signage player, a green, eco-friendly technology, Noventri agreed to plant a tree for each player purchased. Recent purchases have resulted in the completion of replanting trees in the John M. Bethea State Forest in Sanderson, Florida.
The John M. Bethea State Forest is a 37,736-acre state forest that establishes a continuous wildlife corridor between Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the Osceola National Forest.
The state forest recently suffered catastrophic wildfires, which impacted over 80% of its trees. Reforestation efforts were recently completed through The Florida Division of Forestry and the Arbor Day Foundation with 571,000 slash and longleaf pine seedlings planted on 840 acres of land. Noventri donations went directly toward the reforestation of this forest.
“Noventri is proud to have had a part in the preservation this essential land,” says Andrew Hoffman, VP of Noventri. “We want to thank our clients, since it was their purchases that allowed for our donations to find their way into this National forest.”
From early on, Noventri realized the need for technology can be eco-friendly and green and has strived to maintain that stance with its recent release of an eco-friendly digital signage player.
The Eco-Series SF-100e digital signage player uses less than four watts. This is a substantial savings over using a standard computer to provide digital signage within buildings. The SF-100e also saves fossil fuel since it is manufactured within the United States where it is sold nationally. Planting a tree for each purchased player only makes it more eco-friendly.
Some of the recent clients whose purchases were responsible for the reforestation of the John M. Bethea State Forest include: Oxford Hotel, Aramark – Pennsylvania Convention Center, Massanutten Resorts, Dominion Post, Sign Solutions, Tect Aerospace, Marriott Inner Harbor, Morgan State University, Embassy Suites Hunt Valley, Tropicana Casino Resort, Ionics EMS, Vertical Systems, Missouri Athletic Club, Manheim Public Library, Otterbein United Brethren and Scranton School District.
