KY Based Company Fan Outfitters Set to Open Their Second Collegiate Retail Location in Hamburg Pavilion

Lexington, KY, August 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Following a successful launch of their Tates Creek Store in September 2009, Fan Outfitters will expand to Hamburg Pavilion this Friday, August 13th. The enthusiastic support of UK College fans upon the opening of their first store convinced the Dawahare Family that it was time to expand their brand and bring “Kentucky Blue” merchandise to awaiting fanatics across Lexington. The new store is located next to Party City with over 5,000 square feet of UK apparel, novelty items and more.

Founders, Stephen Dawahare and Joe Kawaja have a strong UK connection with former quarterback Tim Couch, who is also a partner. The three describe Fan Outfitters as a store “that completely outfits the ‘true blue’ fan. We sell everything from a small car decal to an office chair embellished with the UK logo,” said Kawaja. The new site provides fans with a 24/7 access to the hottest UK gear available.

Dawahare and Kawaja are hitting the road with their concept of providing fans with everything blue by recently investing in a 54 foot mobile unit that will travel to various events and cities.

With such a huge interest in collegiate merchandise, the company's first store filled a major void in an industry that is generally fragmented without a national player. “We are fans who know what fans want, to provide that to others is an amazing opportunity,” noted Dawahare. The company has gained insight into a number of other collegiate markets and plans for expansion are already underway. A third location will open in Louisville, KY in the Shelbyville Road Plaza at the end of the month.
