Jackson Walker Partner Receives Promethean Award
Houston, TX, August 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jackson Walker partner Randy Farber recently received the Promethean Award from the Texas Rehabilitation Association.
The Promethean Award is given to a person with a disability who has demonstrated self-motivation and personal courage in overcoming the disability beyond the assistance provided by any public service or private helping service agency. The Texas Rehabilitation Association is an organization dedicated to promoting quality rehabilitation services and the profession of rehabilitation, as well as enhancing opportunities for Texans with disabilities.
Mr. Farber practices primarily in the real estate, finance, and corporate areas. In the real estate area, he has represented purchasers and sellers of commercial and residential properties including office buildings, apartment complexes and shopping centers; developers of commercial and residential properties; lenders and borrowers in loan workouts and foreclosures; landlords and tenants in commercial, residential and ground leases; and community associations in connection with the creation and amendment of deed restrictions, deed restriction enforcement, and general corporate matters. Mr. Farber’s experience in finance includes the representation of financial institutions in connection with real estate based loans, asset based loans, and general commercial loans. In the corporate area, he has advised entrepreneurs concerning the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing different forms of business entities. Mr. Farber received his B.S. degree in Business Administration. He received his M.B.A., cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Houston, where he was selected as a member of the Order of the Coif and was MIS Editor for the Houston Law Review.
The Promethean Award was presented in Corpus Christi, Texas. In addition to his award, Mr. Farber recently was interviewed for a DVD that the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services - Division for Blind Services is producing. The purpose of the DVD is to explain the services and assistance that DARS-DBS can provide to persons who have visual impairments.
