SteelMaster Explodes Onto Hollywood Scene
SteelMaster Buildings hits the big screen in the highly anticipated release of the action/war film "The Expendables."
Virginia Beach, VA, August 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Two SteelMaster buildings hit the big screen this Friday alongside a powerful lineup of brawny stars in the highly anticipated release of the action/war film “The Expendables.”
The movie gives an explosive nod to the epic action films of the 1980s and early ‘90s by featuring what many are calling the fiercest cast of action heroes ever assembled, including veteran actors Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke, as well as up-and-coming stars Randy Couture, Steve Austin and Terry Crews.
The men join together to play a team of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. The mission does not go as planned, and the men soon find themselves entangled in a dangerous snare of deception and duplicity which threatens to turn them against one another.
In the middle of the action, draped with gunmetal gray netting, stand two Q-model SteelMaster buildings which were commissioned by the film’s production house for use on the set. “The studio wanted authentic military Quonset-style buildings that would be cost effective and easy to construct,” says William Swafford, project specialist for SteelMaster. “We designed three options and determined the model and size that would best fit their budget and location requirements.”
Due to their versatility, cost and ease of construction, SteelMaster buildings have proven beneficial to other filmmakers as well and can be seen in such movies as “Die Hard with a Vengeance”, “Twister”, and “Forces of Nature.”
“It’s always exciting when our SteelMaster buildings are featured in movies,” says Michelle Wickum, director of marketing for SteelMaster. “The range of use for a SteelMaster building is quite extensive, and we always enjoy the way films incorporate them into different scenes.”
