SeQual Technologies to Aid Gulf Coast Relief Efforts

San Diego, CA, August 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- SeQual Technologies Inc., a San Diego-based medical equipment manufacturer which develops oxygen systems known worldwide for their reliability, quality, and revolutionary design and economy, is pledging their support to the recovery efforts in the Gulf Coast by donating a portion of their sales revenue to Head Coach of the World Champion New Orlean Saints, Sean Paytons’, Play It Forward Foundation.

Both environmental and socio-economic concerns were at the forefront of the decision to assist in relief efforts. SeQual recognizes the value of the unique and biologically diverse ecosystems present throughout the Gulf of Mexico regions as well as the importance of the livelihoods of the individuals and families who call those areas home and make their living in the affected areas.

While SeQual is headquartered in San Diego, connections to the Gulf Coast within the company are of a strong and personal nature. Brad Matte, Southern Regional Manager of SeQual, makes his home in the coastal Louisiana town of Morgan City. “I have logged hundreds of hours on the bayous and coastal bays of South Louisiana. A highlight is introducing visiting friends to the vast estuary and the indiginous wildlife, sharing the excitement of tailing red fish, the thrill of hooking a big, yellow-mouth trout,” said Matte. “The effect the spill is having on the hard-working commercial fisherman and their families is devastating. I typically tell my out of town friends, ‘welcome to my backyard’ I hope and pray it’s not an oil pit.”

Recently, several employees, including Ron Richard, CEO of SeQual, got a personal tour and enjoyed the Gulf Coast and its many splendors on a fishing trip in Louisiana. “I’m an avid fisherman and in April I had the chance to experience this area firsthand. I found it to be unique in so many ways. I was impressed with the hardworking people that depend on the fishing industry for their livelihood,” said Ron Richard. “In the past few years, SeQual has contributed to several causes and want to support the restoration projects in this beautiful part of the country. We hope by contributing to this project, we gain the attention of other medical manufacturers—the impact of the oil spill effects many patients using medical products, as well as the local businesses.”
