Jacksonville, FL, August 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- As Jacksonville buzzes with election fever and Jaguar mania, members of the Jewish community are gearing up for the High Holiday Season and searching for tickets – for seats at synagogue this Jewish New Year.
In support of the Jacksonville Jaguars Rabbi Shmuli Novack, spiritual leader at Chabad of Southside announced a bold new initiative “I highly encourage folks to go out and purchase Jaguar tickets and season tickets for the new season and as our way of supporting our home team and to assist we have decided to distribute 100% free tickets to synagogue for the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur,” said Rabbi Shmuli Novack Spiritual Leader at Chabad of Southside.
“Our centers in Mandarin, Ponte Vedra and S. Augustine are on board as well and we are confident that this will help bolster ticket sales to help support the Jaguars and avoid another blackout,” he added.
The High Holidays include Rosh Hashanah – The Head of the Jewish Year as well as Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement. This year Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on September 8th and Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Sep. 17th.
“Rosh Hashanah literally means ‘Head of the Year’ and the name is significant for just as the head controls all aspects of one’s body, the Days of Rosh Hashanah have tremendous impact on the entire year.”
