The Virtuous Women Ring in the New Year with a Controversial Topic
The Literary Corner hosts interview Marlo Boux about Christian women with the spiritual gift of leadership.
Denver, CO, December 30, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Join Ms. Bettye Jamerson and Dr. Taffy Wagner, hosts of the Literary Corner podcast, on Monday January 1, 2007 when they tackle the thorny issue of Christian women with the spiritual gift of leadership.
Marlo Boux is a woman who accepted Christ in her life at the age of twenty-four. Since that time she has begun working with a mentor and it was revealed by the Holy Spirit that she had the spiritual gift of leadership. At the time she felt very confused and bewildered about what it meant to be a Christian woman with the spiritual gift of leadership in a predominately patriarchal church system. Out of this sense of confusion God birthed in her an idea to create a course that would help other women with the spiritual gift of leadership navigate this issue.
“When God Bestows the Spiritual Gift of Leadership Upon One of His Daughters’ is really like a mentor-in-a-box, for lack of a better term,” Boux comments. “The idea behind this e-book and audio course was to show other women with the gift how differently it could manifest itself in terms of roles and duties,” she says. It also addresses the important issue of maintaining godly order as a woman leader. “I wanted it to be balanced and biblical and not interpreted as feminist literature thinly veiled in Scriptural references,” Marlo says.
Dr. Taffy and Bettye ask Marlo some tough questions about women with the leadership gift dealing with opposition within the church and other difficult challenges. When asked what qualities are important to possess as godly women leaders Marlo had this to say: “A desire for accountability and an incredible obedience to God’s will is very important.”
Later in the hour, the Literary Corner hosts continue their conversation about women with the spiritual gift of leadership with their second guest Dr. Gail Hayes. As a woman in a position of leadership surrounded by men, she has much wisdom and experience to impart for the listening audience. Dr. Hayes walks confidently in her gifting and also talks about the need for accountability.
Dr. Taffy Wagner and Ms. Bettye Jamerson are published authors and public speakers. The have a wealth of experience in the publishing and promotion arena. Dr. Wagner is the author of 'Debt Dilemma' and ‘Homebuyer’s Helper’. Ms. Jamerson is the author of 'Love: The Greatest Choice of All', and 'For the Love of Beulah: Finding your Purpose in Life'.
