On September 26, 2010 Martini In The Morning’s “Team Martini will be participating in the 19th annual Orange County Susan G Komen Race for the cure to raise money and raise awareness on the road to a cure for breast cancer.
North Hollywood, CA, August 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The internet radio station Martini In the Morning will once again be one of the sponsors for Orange County Susan G Komen Race for The Cure. The race is designed to raise money and raise awareness on the road to a cure for breast cancer. In California alone, more than 21,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Breast cancer will take the lives of 4,000 women this year. Funds raised during the Komen Race for the Cure support the Komen vision of a world without breast cancer.
"We came together because of a love of the music played at www.MartiniInTheMorning.com“said Brad “Martini” Chambers, Chief Creative Officer at The Standard Media Group, a North Hollywood, CA based company operating MartiniInTheMorning.com." But we are more than just a group of listeners. We're a community bound together by our love for great music, as well as the enjoyment of life's finer things. Having been so blessed, we feel a need to give back to make a difference."
“Our listeners understand the importance of fundraising to support education and scientific research towards the fight against breast cancer” said Chambers. “We are hoping to have 125 people join the team and raise $125 each-which is the average cost of a Komen-funded mammogram. Team Martini of course will be lounging for the cure. The knees aren’t what they use to be. Runners are allowed on the team. (They can run ahead and save us a place to meet when we get through with our walk).”
Team Martini is not just a race team, or a group of select few members, but a worldwide Team of caring. Team Martini has already participated in countless charity events, giving Boomers common causes around which to rally. Chambers points out "We want to help a good cause and have a good time. Our goal is to be able to eventually organize a Team Martini in every city where there is a run".
Team Martini has participated/sponsored in the races in Los Angeles, New Jersey, Tampa/St. Petersburg Florida and Des Moines Iowa.
