With the Help of SteadyRain, Kaldi's Brings Coffee to the Internet

St. Louis, MO, August 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis based Internet strategy, design and development agency, SteadyRain has recently announced the completion of a versatile ecommerce solution for well-known St. Louis coffee roasters, Kaldi’s Coffee. SteadyRain is pleased to have been selected by Kaldi’s Coffee to complete this much needed update.

Kaldi’s Coffee approached SteadyRain with the desire to increase revenue by upgrading their already-thriving retail and wholesale Internet business, www.KaldisCoffee.com, into a more robust tool. After an architectural and engineering consulting engagement, SteadyRain developed a single fully-functional ecommerce solution that included support for both its retail sales channel and its business-to-business wholesale channel. With the success of this project, Kaldi’s Coffee is also looking to migrate some of the other organizations they own into the same platform.

The Internet solution provided by SteadyRain is powered by the open-source, Windows-based DotNetNuke (DNN) content management system as its core framework and includes the integration of a third-party, embedded ecommerce solution. Work also included an organization of Kaldi’s Coffee product data and a data migration into the new ecommerce solution.

“SteadyRain has done a great job bringing together a design that really reflects our brand, a powerful ecommerce solution, and the content management tools that we need to maintain the rest of the site,” said Steve Langolis of Kaldi’s Coffee. “The fact we can manage the same catalog for both retail and wholesale customers has been a huge time-saver for us. SteadyRain helped us grasp this concept as well as migrate our data into this online store.”

SteadyRain took inspiration from an existing web design that Kaldi’s Coffee had commissioned and was able to integrate the design seamlessly into DotNetNuke allowing for easier and simpler maintenance of the site. As one of only a handful of DotNetNuke Gold Partners in the United States, SteadyRain continues to merge visual appeal and functional web solutions within this robust content management system.

“This project highlights the power and flexibility of DotNetNuke by successfully marrying both content management and ecommerce within a single web strategy. Moreover, it integrates wholesale and retail ecommerce stores under a single, branded domain name. The retail online store on Kaldi’s site is open to the public while their wholesale store is password-protected limiting access to a select group of Kaldi’s wholesale account holders. The solution is simple, compact, and efficient,” said Thompson Knox, Vice President of Internet Strategy.
