AirWalk Communications Names Chris Yenney to New Vice President Position
As part of AirWalk's growth initiative, the company created a new VP of Business Development role, naming Chris Yenney to the position.
Dallas, TX, August 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Chris Yenney has joined AirWalk Communications as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. In 2007, Mr. Yenney led the successful launch of the world’s first commercial CDMA femtocell network at Sprint Nextel.
Mr. Yenney’s appointment is part of AirWalk’s plan for rapid growth, driven by the increasing demand for more efficient data and voice networks. In his role at AirWalk, an innovator of IP-based CDMA cellular network equipment, Mr. Yenney will develop new business opportunities and strategic relationships with major CDMA wireless operators and OEM partners. He will drive AirWalk’s business expansion by positioning its products and technology in the marketplace.
“This is an exciting time for AirWalk, and Chris will be an integral part of our team as we continue to build our momentum in the industry and ramp up our presence in the femtocell and picocell markets.” said Serge Pequeux, president and CEO of AirWalk Communications. “His ability to look at opportunities from the operator’s perspective while promoting innovative solutions will help us create and execute our aggressive growth strategies.”
“There are tremendous opportunities ahead for AirWalk, and I am thrilled to be part of the team bringing some of the most ground-breaking wireless products to market,” Mr. Yenney said. “I have admired the talent, the technical expertise and the enthusiasm at AirWalk since they emerged on the femtocell scene a few years ago. I look forward to working together to take AirWalk to the next level.”
Mr. Pequeux said bringing Mr. Yenney to AirWalk is an example of how the company is adding resources to increase the market presence of its robust portfolio of wireless products. Those products include the EdgePoint consumer femtocell and EdgePoint PRO enterprise femtocell, along with macrocells for large-scale cellular networks and picocells for campus, office, and public area environments.
As part of his leadership of the femtocell program at Sprint Nextel, Mr. Yenney was instrumental in driving technological advances and their adoption as well as real-world business opportunities. Prior to the decade he spent at Sprint Nextel, Mr. Yenney worked with Cable & Wireless, MCI, and the U.S. Army, where he served as a satellite communications engineer.
