Painting the Town Pink with a Sticky Message
Los Angeles, CA, August 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Beautiful Day Foundation, the organization raising awareness about breast cancer, known for educating and outreaching at college campuses, goes out in the streets in an effort to Paint the Town Pink. The foundation kicked off a sticker campaign at San Diego Comic-Con 2010, the global pop culture event of the year, in hopes of inspiring creative ways to take breast cancer awareness in a contemporary, web-driven way, painting the town and the web pink.
The Paint the Town Pink campaign will be an ongoing photo contest held online via Twitter photo tweets and Facebook image posts. Posters are asked to take fun and clever pictures of places they take the signature Beautiful Day pink ribbon with hibiscus sticker. Winners are chosen and sent Exclusive Prize Packs with Beautiful Day Foundation apparel, tote bag and other goodies from generous donors and sponsors.
The winner of the San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Paint the Town Pink contest was Annie from Gardena, California. She titled the photo, “Beautiful Day Foundation goes to infinity and beyond” with the signature sticker on a Lego sculpture of Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear. Annie won an Exclusive Comic-Con themed Prize Pack filled with manga from TokyoPop, games and accessories from Konami, giveaways from Comic-Con and a Beautiful Day Foundation shirt.
The Paint the Town Pink contest will continue as an ongoing web contest. Winners will be announced periodically, with the next cycle of ending in December. Photos can be posted to www.facebook.com/BeautifulDayFoundation or www.twitter.com/BDFcharity. Full contest rules can be found on the event’s details on Facebook. According to fans of the organization and Comic-Con attendees, they look forward to taking the stickers on their vacations in hopes of bringing the Pink Message global.
