Genese Music and Entertainment Group Announces Ronald Rolling as the Interim Director
Atlanta, GA, December 28, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Genese Music and Entertainment makes Ronald Rolling its interim Director of Obia Soul. The move to promote Rolling was made as Genese prepares for Obia Soul’s official launch on February 3, 2007.
Senior officials for Genese Music and Entertainment convened to discuss the launch and organizational structure for its new imprint Obia Soul. Initially, Ronald will be responsible for taking on the development Obia Soul and creating a branding strategy.
“This morning we took an in-depth look at our artist roster to determine who will be showcased as the premier Obia Soul artist. During the process it became clear that Ronald (Rolling) has a strong feel for each of the artist and the direction we want to take the imprint. It is our hope that Ronald can use his skills to make Obia Soul something that is marketable and viable,” said Ralph Rogers, CEO Genese Music and Entertainment.
Ronald Rolling came to Genese in late 2004 after working closely with a number of artists in Mid-Atlantic.
“Ralph and David talked to me about their collective idea for Genese and asked for my help to find talent. At first, I turned them down to continue developing my team of artist and other projects that had my attention. A few months went by and David invited me to a business meeting along with 13 other individuals. When I arrived at the meeting David Skinner was already going through the company’s business plan and goals for the following three years. At the end of the meeting I went to David and asked if he would bring me onboard,” said Ronald Rolling.
After officially becoming a member of Genese Music Ronald aggressively sought out talent. However, many of the vocalists Ronald found to audition for the label did not meet its criteria.
Ralph Rogers states, “Ronald wanted us to know that he was a good fit for the company. He also wanted us to know and understand his willingness to help us fill our rosters. However, our initial focus for Genese Music was to find and develop a strong core of six artists. Then put our resources behind publicizing them. We finally told Ron what we were looking for and he eventually brought us Carronne (Jones Grant). Later Ron asked for help and we brought on two more people to solidify the A&R team.”
For the short term Ronald Rolling will be working in a double role as both Director of Obia Soul and Senior A&R until his position is filled.
