Women Presidents’ Organization Member Receives Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education
Raleigh, NC, December 28, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) Oklahoma City chapter member Lou Kerr, president of the Kerr Foundation, Inc., has received the 2006 Special Recognition Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education for more than 20 years of distinguished public service and commitment. The Association for Continuing Higher Education is an institution-based organization of colleges, universities, and individuals dedicated to the promotion of lifelong learning and excellence in continuing higher education. The Kerr Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit charitable and educational corporation based in Oklahoma established to identify and support 501(c)3 organizations, programs and institutions that provide new or enhanced opportunities for those within the granting areas, particularly the young.

Lou Kerr, president of The Kerr Foundation, Inc., is involved in many activities, boards and philanthropic endeavors. Founder and chair of the Oklahoma International Women's Forum (OIWF), she has partnered OIWF with Oklahoma State University in a successful leadership program since 1992. Kerr also founded Red Earth, Inc. and the OCU Societies. She sits on many boards, including the Women's Leadership Board of the John F. Kennedy School of Government-Harvard University, University of Oklahoma International Programs Center with Ambassador Edward Perkins and Ambassador Edwin Corr, UMB Oklahoma Bank, Lyric Theatre, the International Business Forum, and the Advisory Board for the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation.
