The Founders Fund, Inc. Announces 2010/2011 Board of Trustees
Sue McNaghten is appointed Chairman of the newly elected Board of Trustees for The Founders Fund, a non-profit organization that grants college scholarships to Collier County high schools' seniors.
Naples, FL, August 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Founders Fund, Inc. is proud to announce the newly elected Board of Trustees that will be leading the scholarship granting organization into the next decade.
After celebrating the success of their 87 scholarship students at the Annual Scholarship Awards Reception in May, elections were held to fill the 16 seats of the Board of Trustees, including the positions of Chairman and Treasurer.
The Founders Fund 2010/2011 Board of Trustees: Sue McNaghten (Chairman), Frank Morley (Vice Chairman) and George Gibson (Treasurer) along with Chris Carlson, Lee Dayton, Kay Drolet, Leo Flanagan, Coe Gutowsky, Wayne Kent, Tom Lear, John Levy, Tom McCarty, Gene Murphy, Schuyler Peck, Joan Thomas, and Pidge Weir. Gerald O’Connor will act as the Club Pelican Bay Board representative.
The Founders Fund, Inc., a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization, was created in 1991 by the Founding Golf Members of The Club at Pelican Bay. The mission is to provide financial assistance to young men and women from Collier County in their pursuit of higher education. Founders Fund scholarship students receive a renewable scholarship of $2,000 per year for four years; the 87 scholarships paid in 2009 totaled $174,000.
The Founders Fund is supported by Golf and Social Members of The Club Pelican Bay, as well as many corporate sponsors which include prominent local and national businesses that are very generous in their support of the Founders Fund. The 2010 Biennial Ed Brennan Memorial Golf Tournament took place April 12 and raised over $250,000.
