Karl Koweski Joins Red Fez Publications as Columnist

The evolution of Red Fez Publications continues with the addition of staff columnist, Karl Koweski. Koweksi's column, “Observations of a Dumb Polack” will begin running in the September issue of Red Fez.

Jacksonville, IL, August 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Red Fez Publications recently announced that Karl Koweski has joined the online journal as a staff columnist. Beginning with the September issue, Karl will reprise his role as author of the popular column “Observations of a Dumb Polack.” Zygote in my Coffee published the column from 2006 until May 2010 when it announced its defunct status.

The column will appear at Red Fez Publications for the first time in Issue #28, due out September 1. “Snagging Karl to continue the Observations column for Red Fez was a selfish act. I loved reading it on Zygote and hated to see it put to rest,” said Michele McDannold, editor.

Mrs. McDannold goes on to say, “This first column for Red Fez does not disappoint. I wonder how many alter-egos Karl has. This one is about Vic, his chronic masturbating and quest for sex during a Wizards and Warlocks campaign.”

Karl, who was a co-editor at Zygote in my Coffee, is the host of “The Polish Hammer Poetry Hour” on blogtalk radio. He is the author of several chapbooks including “Industrial Strip” published by Covert Press and “Diminishing Returns” published by Sunnyoutside. In 2009, Tainted Coffee Press released a collaborative chapbook of short stories from Karl Koweski and Melissa Hansen as part of the 69 Flipbook series. Karl's poetry and short stories have been published widely throughout the small press.

"Koweski is a ‘meat-and-potatoes’ poet. No fancy language, no speaking over your head. When he writes about the real life you don’t want to see, like babies of dopeheads, disillusionment with a Wild West show, and the painful loss of a memory-laden car, you take his side.”-- Cindy Rosmus, editor of Yellow Mama.

Red Fez Publications will continue to publish “Observations of a Dumb Polack” in its quarterly issues. For more information go to www.redfez.net.
