New Tween Book Released
Announcing the release of Linda Nelson's Tween Book "Friends of Choice" now available for purchase at your local independent bookstore.
New Ipswich, NH, August 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Linda Nelson published her book 'Friends of Choice' with Lulu Publishing. After she watched her own children go through the difficult task of choosing friends, she was prompted to write a story about friendship, trust, and consequences. This is the first book in a series of books she is planning on writing for Tweens/Teens & Young Adults.
In the story 'Friends of Choice', Karla does not like having to move to a new town. She hates the thought of leaving her best friends behind. The school she is to attend is about three times the size of her old school. It holds many new opportunities for her. At Brantwood High, she meets Carol Bower, and is introduced to her clique of friends. Karla also meets her first crush in history class. He is one of Carol's friends. He is also the football captain of the varsity team. They invite Karla to her first teen party. But first she must convince her parents into letting her sleepover Carol's. She begins to feel she is about to become a victim of hazing. Karla begins to have second thoughts about going to this party and hanging out with Carol and her friends. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.
Friends can help us through tough times. But what about the friends we sometimes choose who don't always look out for our best interests.
Karla had some wonderful friends. Her best friends. They were the ones who were always there for her.
When she has to move away from her best friends and she makes new friends, should they really be called friends?
Karla is about to learn the real definition of friendship.
