OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Expands Workplace Safety Outreach with Safety Center Incorporated Alliance

Partnership breaks new ground with first open enrollment Spanish Language Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction on the West Coast

San Francisco, CA, September 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District has formed an alliance with Safety Center Incorporated of Sacramento to expand each organization’s workplace safety training programs. The partnership allows Safety Center to offer OSHA standards-based trainer courses, and aligns the OSHA Training Center with a highly regarded training organization that has demonstrated a deep commitment to safety education since 1934.

“I welcome this collaboration with John Messing and the OSHA Training Center,” said Jerry Bach, Vice President of Workplace Safety and Health Training at Safety Center Incorporated. “I appreciate the opportunity to provide OSHA train-the-trainer courses in Sacramento, the Central Valley and throughout the North Bay Area, and I look forward to combining our resources to offer more training options for our respective students,” said Bach.

The partnership has already generated the first open enrollment Spanish Language Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction on the West Coast. The 4-day program, scheduled for October 18-21 in Modesto, is designed to address employers’ responsibility to protect non-English speaking employees from workplace hazards, and fulfills OSHA’s recent directive to provide safety training in the language in which participants receive their on-the-job instructions.

The OSHA Training Center will be incorporating a Safety Center course, Cal/OSHA-8 Train the Trainer, into its Outreach Trainer Course in Construction at its Dublin location in December. Safety Center Incorporated developed this program with Cal/OSHA Consultation to train supervisors and foremen in the real-life application of the eight elements of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).

Safety Center VP Bach and OSHA Training Center Manager Messing are exploring additional workplace safety training opportunities that will benefit students throughout Northern California.
